Vice Provost:
Wentworth College, enrolling nearly 1500 students, located in Lexington,
MO invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice Provost
and Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs. Serving directly
under the Provost, the Vice Provost serves as Dean of the College and is
responsible for the day to day management of the College Staff and
Faculty. It is anticipated that the Vice Provost will eventually succeed
the current Provost.
Wentworth seeks person with a proven track
record of effectiveness in both scholarship and teaching, preferably at
a selective liberal arts college. An earned Doctorate is strongly
preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates who are currently
enrolled in a Doctorial program. The successful candidate will have
demonstrated effectiveness in academic administration at a college or
university and will have experience administering academic budgets,
expertise in financial management and the ability to think strategically
about investments in academic quality. Moreover, her or she will have
demonstrated success in addressing diversity issues, assessment,
personnel matters, and will be a person of unquestioned integrity.
Creativity, collegiality, sound managerial judgment, fairness,
discretion, and the ability to make difficult decisions are additionally
expected qualities of our candidate.
Wentworth College is part of the Wentworth
Military Academy, the oldest institution of its kind West of the
Mississippi river. The campus serves over 200 boarding high school and
college Cadets and a local commuting population of approximately 450
students. Wentworth operates three remote campus sites in Western
Missouri and has a dual-enrollment presence in over 30 Missouri high
schools. The College awards AA and AS degrees in general studies and
business management.
The appointment will become effective on
or about July 15th, 2008.
Farsi Language & Literature
Instructor: Wentworth Military
Academy, Lexington, MO. Duties: Instruct cadets in Farsi language,
literature & culture; issue exams; grade cadets; prepare syllabus;
assign homework; prepare progress reports; be available for
individualized assistance & initiate classroom discussion.
Requires: Bachelors or equivalent in Persian Language and
Literature; Two years experience in instructing Farsi language,
